Are My Items Insured While Being Storage At Your Facility?

Insuring items stored is the sole responsibility of the renter. A home owners or renters insurance policy may cover your stored items but depends on the individual policy. What are heated or temperature controlled units? Is this a necessity?

Heated units in this geographic region are not necessary for most stored items when storing at a facility that has been designed and built to correctly handle moisture and condensation factors. Temperature controlled units were introduced to the industry as metal buildings became the construction of choice. Metal buildings condensate and cause moisture to hang on the interior of walls requiring air movement to help resolve this issue. Storage facility’s built of wood products do not have the moisture problems associated with metal or masonry construction. To offset this moisture build up in certain types of construction, facility designers came up with the heated unit concept. Our facility is built of wood products that breath and vented to allow moisture to escape in a natural way to avoid any moisture build up.
